学院下设能源与动力工程系、环境科学与工程系和实验中心。现有在校本科生734人，硕士研究生78人，专业硕士和工程硕士20余人。在职教工45人，其中教授8人，副教授12人，18人具有博士学位。
学院设有能源与动力工程和环境工程两个本科专业。动力工程及工程热物理一级学科硕士点和环境科学与工程一级学科硕士点两个，专业硕士和工程硕士点各一个。国家“卓越工程师”专业一个，安徽省特色专业一个，国家级特色建设专业一个。省级重点学科二个，教育部工程研究中心一个。
学院注重教学质量和科研水平提升，在宝钢、马钢、南钢、济钢、市政管理处、华骐环保科技公司等单位建立了稳定的实践教学基地。近5年来，承担国家自然基金项目十一项，科技部重点支撑项目2项省级项目,省级20余项目，产学研合作科研项目200余项，先后承担了科技部重点支撑计划和国际合作项目，完成科研经费2300余万元。发表学术论文200余篇，其中SCI/EI/ISTP收录80余篇，授权专利三十余项，获国家科技进步二等奖1项，安徽省科技进步一等奖1项，其它省部级奖10余项。
学院与国外高等院校、科研机构有着广泛的学术交流和友好往来并于多个国内外院校保持经常的学术联系。学院与美国普渡大学，日本东北大学，荷兰代尔夫特工业大学以及美国爱荷华大学、罗格斯大学等著名高校和国内的北京科技大学，东北大学，上海交通大学等保持了密切的科研与教学合作关系。并聘请国内外著名专家、教授为我院兼职教授。
学院是华东地区唯一的一所立足冶金，面向多行业的能源与环境专门人才的培养基地，学院培养的学生基础扎实，动手能力强，素质优良，就业率高，适应了人才市场的需求，并赢得了企业的认可。一大批毕业生已经成为该学科教育和研究领域的知名学者和专家。

The School of Energy and Environment consists of Department of Energy and Power Engineering,andDepartment of Environmental Science and Engineering as well as an experimental center. The School offers two majors atbachelorlevel: Energy and Power Engineering,Environmental Engineering,has the privilege ofgrantingstatefirst-grademaster degreesof thermal power engineering&engineering physics, environmentalscience andengineering,master ofengineering andmaster ofprofessional. Moreover, the schoolnow owns oneStateExcellent Engineerspecialty, one provincial characteristic specialty, onestatecharacteristic specialty,two provincial key disciplines and one Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education.
The School focuseson improving the quality of teaching and research, has established a series of stable bases for practice teaching with Baosteel, Maanshan steel, Nanjing steel, Jinan Iron and Steel Group, Municipal Administration of Maanshan, Huaqi environmental technology company etc. During the past five years, the School has received 2keyprojectsfromthe Ministry of Science & Technology Pillar Program, 11 projects from National Natural Science Foundation of China,more than 20 provincial projects,and200strongcooperate-supported research projects. The funding reaches23 million Yuanand more than 200 papersarepublished including 80 SCI/EI/ISTP.The school is granted more than 30 patents, one 2ndaward in State Technological Invention, one 1staward in Anhui Provincial Technological Inventions,as well as 10 other provincial and ministerial awards.
The school hasestablishedextensive academic communications with a number of domestic and foreignuniversitiess, including Purdue University in US, Northeastern University in Japan, Delft University in Netherlands, Rutgers University and University of Iowa in USA, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Northeastern University, Shanghai Jiaotong University etc. Some well-known experts and professors have beeninvitedasguestprofessors.
