旅游学院
旅游业作为“无烟产业”和“永远的朝阳产业”，已经和石油业、汽车业并列为世界三大产业，且是当今全球发展最快的产业之一。改革开放以来，我国迅速发展的旅游业呼唤着众多旅游专业英才。成立于1999年的湖南师范大学旅游学院位于国家历史文化名城长沙，历经十余载的发展壮大，在学科水平、人才培养、科学研究和国际交流方面保持着湖南省内领先水平，成为国内优秀的旅游学院之一。
湖南师范大学的前身为创建于1938年的国立师范学院，是国家“211工程”重点建设大学。湖南师范大学是湖南省内最早创办高等旅游教育的高校，于1993年开办了湖南省内第一个旅游管理本科专业。1999年，为适应旅游人才培养的需要，湖南师范大学正式设立旅游学院，郑焱教授担任首任院长。学院现任院长是王兆峰教授。2014年5月，在湖南省旅游局和湖南师范大学的共同支持下，湖南省旅游研究院落户我院，实行“两块牌子一套人马”的管理体制。学院现有旅游管理、酒店管理、会展管理3个系，并辖有3个省部级科研机构、3个校级科研机构。
学院以培养适应中国旅游业发展需要的专业人才为宗旨，借鉴、引进国内外优秀旅游学院的教学内容、方法和手段，不断改进教学工作、提高科研水平。中国旅游业的迅速发展，为旅游高等教育的发展提供了良好的外部环境。建院十余年来，学院规模逐渐壮大，办学水平稳步提高。现有3个本科专业（其中1个省特色专业），4个硕士点，1个博士点招生方向（人文地理旅游地理方向），还招收海外留学生。
硕士点与博士点：
2001年，学院获批旅游管理专业硕士学位（科学学位）授权点，是湖南省第一个也是国内较早具有旅游管理专业硕士学位授予权的单位之一。
2010年，学院成为全国首批开办MTA（旅游管理专业学位硕士点）教育的单位。（专业学位）
2013年，学院获批旅游地理硕士点。（科学学位）
2014年，学院获批饭店管理硕士点。（科学学位）
2015年，学院获批职业技术教育硕士点（旅游服务管理）。（教育硕士专业学位）
2011年，学院获准开办人文地理旅游地理博士招生方向。
本科专业与省特色专业：
1993年开办了湖南省内第一个旅游管理本科专业。
2008年，学院获准开办湖南省内第一个酒店管理本科专业。专业实力在全国排名第二位。
2009年，旅游管理专业被评为湖南省高校特色本科专业。
2015年，学院获准开办会展经济与管理本科专业。

2007年学院获批湖南省社科重点研究基地——湖南省旅游与休闲研究基地。

旅游规划（乙级资质）
作为湖南省培养旅游专业人才的摇篮，我院拥有优秀的师资队伍。截至2016年3月，学院共有全职专任教师32人，其中教授9人，副教授10人，22人在国内外一流大学获得博士学位，2人正在攻读博士学位。1人获得“教育部人才支持计划人选”，1人获得国务院特殊津贴专家，4位教师入选湖南省“新世纪121人才工程”。学院每年聘请国内外知名学者、政府主管领导、旅游企业领袖为学生举办的各类课外学术报告和专题讲座。
学院以培养具有天下情怀、国际视野的一流的旅游管理、酒店管理及会展经济与管理人才为目标。学院现有在校学生849人（截至2015年9月统计数据)，其中本科生670人，硕士研究生161人，博士研究生8人，海外留学生10人。

Introduction to the College of Tourism
Known as "smokeless industry" and the "eternal sunrise industry" , tourism industry is now one of the fastest growing industry in the world. The fast developed Chinese tourism industry calls for lots of professionals. Since its establishment in 1999, the Tourism College of Hunan Normal University has been regarded as the leading school in tourism research and education in Hunan Province and one of the most excellent tourism schools in China.
Hunan Normal University was founded in 1938 and now is one of the 100 key universities in the 21st century in China that enjoy priority in obtaining national funds. Hunan Normal University is the earliest university in Hunan that offered undergraduate program in Tourism Management since 1993. In 1999, the College of Tourism was formally established and Professor Yan Zheng was the first dean. The current dean is Professor Zhaofeng Wang. In May 2015, Hunan Provincial Tourism Administration and Hunan Normal University joined together to establish the Hunan Tourism Research Institute. The college has two departments, which are Tourism Management Department and Hotel Management Department, and three research organizations, which are Tourism Research Institute, Convention, Exhibition and Leisure Culture Research Center, Tourism and Leisure Research Base.
Aiming at cultivating talents needed during the course of Chinese tourism industry development, the College of Tourism devotes itself to combining class teaching, practical teaching and international communication. Now the college offers 3 Undergraduate programs, 4 Master programs, and 1 PhD program. In the meanwhile, the college offers an Undergraduate program for international students.
Master & PhD Programs
In 2001, the college was entitled to award Master Degree in Tourism Management, which was the first Master program of its kind in Hunan and one of the earliest in China.
In 2010, the college was entitled to award Master Degree in Tourism Administration, which was one of the first MTA programs in China.
In 2013, the college was entitled to award Master Degree in Tourism Geography.
In 2014, the college was entitled to award Master Degree in Hotel Management.
In 2015, the college was entitled to award Master Degree of Vocational and Technical Education in Tourism Service Management.
In 2011, the college was entitled to award Doctor Degree of Human Geography in Tourism Geography.
Undergraduate Programs
In 1993, the college offered the first undergraduate program in Tourism Management in Hunan Province.
In 2008, the college was entitled to award Bachelor Degree in Hotel Management, which ranks No. 2 in China in terms of its teaching and research.
In 2009, the undergraduate program in Tourism Management was rated one of the Distinctive Undergraduate Programs in the universities in Hunan Province.
In 2015, the college was entitled to award Bachelor Degree in Convention and Exhibition Economics and Management.
Research and Social Service Organization
In 2007, Hunan Tourism and Leisure Research Base, which was the Social Science Key Research Base of Hunan Province, was established.
In 2014, Hunan Tourism Research Institute was established.

As the cradle of tourism talents in Hunan, the college boasts itself of excellent faculties. Till March 2016, the College consists of 32 full-time faculties, including 9 professors and 10 associate professors. Among the full-time faculties, 22 obtained PhD degrees from the leading universities at home and abroad, and two are pursuing their PhD degrees currently. One faculty is elected to the "The Experts Supporting Plan of the Ministry of Education ", one enjoys the State Council Special Allowance and one is elected to the "121 Talents Project in New Century in Hunan". Lots of outstanding scholars, government administrators, business leaders are always invited to give lectures to undergraduates and graduate students to broaden their perspectives.
Our mission was set to develop excellent talents with international visions for the tourism and hospitality industry. Till September 2015, the College consists of about 849 students including 670 undergraduate students, 161 Master students, 8 PhD candidates and 10 international students.
