周栋，男，1979年生，博士，湖南科技大学计算机科学与工程学院副教授，硕士生导师。2003年毕业于英国约克大学，获得信息处理硕士学位；2008年毕业于英国诺丁汉大学，获计算机科学与技术博士学位；2008至2012年在爱尔兰都柏林大学圣三一学院计算机科学与统计系智能系统实验室担任Research Fellow，负责爱尔兰科学基金资助的“下一代本地化”项目中数字内容管理方向多语言个性化模型及搜索子项目，研究关于个性化、多语言信息处理及两者相结合的关键技术。主要研究领域为：信息检索、自然语言处理、多语言信息处理、机器学习及数据挖掘等。近年来在《ACM Computing Surveys》、《ACM Transactions on Asian Language Information Processing》、《Journal of Information Retrieval》、《Expert Systems with Applications》等国际顶级及重要学术期刊和会议发表论文30余篇，其中被SCI/EI收录20余篇。多次受邀担任顶级国际会议的程序委员会成员和国际学术期刊的审稿人。主持在研国家自然科学基金1项。目前是美国计算机学会高级会员（ACM Senior Member），中国计算机学会会员，中国中文信息学会会员，中国计算机学会青年计算机科技论坛（YOCSEF）长沙分论坛委员， 中文信息学会社会媒体处理专委会通讯委员。2012年入选湖南科技大学“湘江学者计划”。个人网站 http://kpnm.hnust.cn/web/zd/
